Kimber joined Adara in 1998, first as a volunteer and currently as a member of the senior management team. She manages the research pillar of Adara work, both identifying community needs through baseline surveys and monitoring the effectiveness of the programmes. Kimber has a BA, an MA and a PhD in anthropology, as well as post-doctoral training in demography. Her focus in the last decade has been on medical anthropology. Along with her Adara responsibilities, she serves as a Professor of Anthropology at the University of Montana in the USA. Kimber also has two children, with whom she enjoys the outdoors, travel, gardening, and keeping chickens.
