As the year comes to an end and the holidays are upon us, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on and give thanks to the amazing communities and partners we work with, hand in hand, and to the generous supporters that have made this work possible.
It has been a massive year and the Foundation has made incredible progress in 2012. We are now providing support to over 20,000 people in need a year, thanks to an amazing team of 45 staff, with an additional 100 people funded by ISIS and employed through our partner organisations in Nepal and Uganda. We have touched the lives of over 100,000 people in poverty since our first days, and we have become specialists in areas as distinct as medical care to premature and high risk babies in remote Uganda, to support for children who have suffered abuse or been trafficked in Nepal.
The ISIS Foundation now has 9 offices in 4 countries, including two at 11,000 feet in the high Himalayas. We have registration in 5 countries and more than 200 volunteers supporting us globally.
To the communities and in-country partners we work with, we have never been more inspired by you. You live in places where resources are beyond scarce, where disease is a regular occurrence and where quality health services and education can be hard to come by. You face these challenges head on and overcome them with strength and determination. You are the true heroes of the work we do and we feel privileged to be a part of your world.
To our amazing supporters, you make it possible for us to work side by side with communities and children in remote areas. We could not be here without you. Whether you are an ISIS cheerleader, a donor or purely a fan – we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We could not be more grateful for all those who make this possible.
It is incredible that ISIS is moving into its 15th year! So many people have stood by us along the way, for which we cannot thank you enough. We are excited to see what 2013 brings! We will keep you posted.
From our ISIS family to all of you,
Happy Holidays and best wishes in the New Year
