In 2007, ISIS began a unique partnership with the Sydney Assurance division of PricewaterhouseCoopers Australia (PwC). PwC are one of the world’s leading professional-services firms and they demonstrate their genuine commitment to social change by supporting organisations like ISIS.
The partnership provides The ISIS Group with a year-long secondment for one of their top chartered accountants, chosen by both PwC and ISIS to be the PwC ISIS Ambassador.
The PwC ISIS Ambassador works in both the non-profit and the business sides of ISIS in Sydney and on a project site in either Nepal or Uganda. We have also received fantastic levels of pro bono accounting support from a range of specialists at PwC.
PwC benefits by providing an opportunity for a talented member of their team to gain both corporate and non-profit skills whilst staying under PwC’s umbrella. The personal and professional development the PwC ISIS Ambassador receives while on secondment ultimately benefits the firm when they return.
From ISIS’ perspective, this partnership has been a huge success. Our finance, accounting and compliance issues are complex, and working with a top-tier firm has made a big difference to our efficiency and outcomes. In fact, the partnership has proved so successful for both ISIS and PwC that other corporations are now approaching us to see if they can replicate it!
We cannot thank PwC enough for their support. They truly are an organisation prepared to put substantial resources into doing the right thing for their staff, and for people in need.
