Kimber Haddix McKay

Kimber is a Director of Adara Development (USA)

Kimber first joined Adara in 1998 as a volunteer. Over almost 27 years, she held a range of senior and leadership roles with Adara including Nepal Country Manager, Research Manager, Director of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, and most recently Senior Advisor – Innovation and Best Practice. In each role, she played a critical part in ensuring that Adara’s programmes were grounded in data, innovation, and global best practice.

Kimber has a BA, an MA and a PhD in Anthropology, as well as two years of post-doctoral training in Demography from the University of California, Berkeley. She specialises in global health, anthropological demography, community-based participatory research, and programme planning and evaluation. Her focus in the last decade has been on medical anthropology.

Dr Haddix McKay is Professor and Chair of the School of Public and Community Health Sciences at the University of Montana in the USA. She teaches global health courses and advises students in the Bachelor of Science, Master of Public Health and PhD programmes in Public Health. She also recently Chaired the University’s Faculty Senate and in 2022-23 served as interim Vice Provost.
