Dr Cyril Engmann is a Director of Adara Development (USA).

Dr Cyril Engmann, MD, FAAP, FAPS is the President and CEO of Global Premiere Services, LLC, a Consulting Company that provides global development and public health strategies and solutions, expert medico-legal advice, and state-of-the art medical services. He is also a practicing Neonatologist and Professor of Pediatrics and Public Health at the University of Washington Schools of Medicine and Public Health.

Up until January 2025, he was the Institutional Official, Spokesperson, and Senior Director of Quality and Program Impact, at PATH, an international non-profit health organization driving transformative innovation to save lives in more than 70 countries. In that role, he was the senior leader accountable for providing deep scientific, medical, and public health expertise, operational excellence, strategic oversight, and leadership across all divisions of the organization. He also oversaw PATH’s research and regulatory affairs. Cyril successfully led the development and execution of PATHS first-ever domestic US-based Program, developing its strategy and execution. From 2014-2020, he served as PATHS Global Program Leader and Director of the Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, and Nutrition (MNCHN) program, leading a department of 140 staff working across five continents with a pipeline totaling $300M.

Prior to PATH, Cyril led the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Newborn Health Strategy where he designed and oversaw a portfolio of grants totaling $200M. He was concurrently Attending Neonatologist and Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Schools of Medicine and Public Health.

Cyril has extensive experience in the research, policy, program, advocacy and strategic health leadership spheres, and has led, shaped or played leadership roles in numerous global initiatives including the Every Newborn Action Plan, Nurturing Care for Early Childhood Development Network, Global Preterm Research Consortium and the Maternal Immunization Network. Internationally, he is the Board Chair of the 20-year, $391M CHAMPS Research Project, is a Lancet Commissioner, serves on the Board of Directors of the Adara Group and the Swiss National Foundation Postdoctoral Selection Committee. He has chaired or been on several multilateral, governmental, Foundation or non-profit organization steering committees. Nationally, he sat on the Expert Panel that advised on all US-Government sponsored COVID-19 trials, and he is frequently invited to hold briefings at the US Congress on domestic and international health challenges and solutions. Within Washington, until 2025, he served on the Governor of Seattle’s Principal Advisors Team for Challenge Seattle – an Alliance of CEOs from 21 of the region’s largest employers and is on the Selection Committee for the Washington Research Foundation postdoctoral fellowship program. In 2022, he was nominated for the Global Luminary Leader Award by the Washington Global Health Alliance.

Dr Engmann has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, white papers, and abstracts. He is Board-Certified in Pediatrics and Neonatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society for Pediatric Research, and the American Pediatric Society – an honor reserved for individuals who have distinguished themselves as child health leaders, teachers, scholars, policymakers and clinicians and whose important contributions are recognized nationally and internationally.

Cyril has dedicated his life to promoting social justice and combating health inequity. He is passionate about driving organizational impact through strategic, inter-disciplinary, purpose-driven partnerships. Over his career he has led or been part of multidisciplinary teams that have shaped or competed for and successfully executed on $1 Billion dollars of policy, research, or program funding. He is strongly committed to utilizing data evidence to improve the human condition and put bold solutions into action.
