Frida Nakkazi

Frida is Adara’s Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Knowledge Sharing Manager. She is responsible for supporting Adara with the design and implementation of Adara’s knowledge sharing and learning strategies to accelerate knowledge, learning and collaboration in Uganda.

Frida brings a wealth of experience and expertise, having specialised in Communications and Knowledge Management and Development. She holds a Masters degree in Development Studies from Ndejje University and a Bachelors degree in Communication Science from the University of South Africa. In addition, she holds professional certifications in Project Management.

Throughout her career, she has held roles with international development health organizations such as The Elizabeth Glaser Paediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) under the USAID Uganda Health Activity Project, where she served as a Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist. She has also worked as a Communications Coordinator with Bulamu Healthcare International, a Public Relations Manager and Corporate Trainer at SWIPE IT, and a Lecturer of Communication modules and Entrepreneurship and Business Management with Jeppe College of Commerce and Computer Studies in South Africa. Additionally, Frida has rich experience in the media industry, she served as a News anchor at UNISA Radio in South Africa, a teenage television presenter at WBS Television Uganda, a youth talk show host and radio presenter at Alpha FM Uganda, a columnist for The Reporter Newspaper, and a voice over artist for Kalu Media Johannesburg. In addition, she has dedicated her time to serving as a counsellor and mentor to school children and teachers in collaboration with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Directorate of Education and Social Services Nakawa Division. Her focus has been on helping children and students overcome mental health, and academic challenges brought about by the two-year COVID-19 school lockdown in Uganda.

Furthermore, Frida has volunteered as a counsellor for female prisoners at Luzira Women’s Prison, supporting them in overcoming COVID-19-induced depression and other conflict-related challenges. In April 2022, Frida was nominated, recognized, announced and awarded as one of the 40 young people in the entire country, Uganda below 40 years of age who are using their careers to exhibit community impact, the X-factor, and ingenuity. She was nominated in the Communications, Advocacy, and Philanthropy category under the New Vision’s Top 40 under 40 project, Uganda’s national newspaper. She is passionate about Health systems strengthening, and MNCH programmes.
