Margaret Seela

Margret is Adara’s Community Midwife in Uganda. In this role, she helps coordinate the Hospital to Home (H2H) programme. Margaret oversees the discharge process of newborns into the H2H programme and works closely with Adara’s network of community health workers who provide follow-up support to babies in the community.

With over 11 years of experience in bedside care, research, and community-based maternal and neonatal health, Margaret is deeply committed to improving outcomes for high-risk newborns and their families. Before joining Adara, she worked as a Neonatal Nurse in the neonatal intensive care units at Kiwoko Hospital and Mulago Specialized Women and Neonatal Hospital. She also served as a maternity and study midwife at Kawempe Mbogo HCIII and Kawempe National Referral Hospital, where she helped implement the Simplified Treatment of Eclampsia Prevention using Magnesium Sulphate. Margaret was also involved in Adara’s development of the Hospital to Home programme.

She holds a Diploma in Midwifery from Mulago School of Nursing and Midwifery.
